about us
When our daughter Adelyn was diagnosed with epilepsy nine years ago, it felt like we were suddenly isolated. Despite having supportive family and friends, we longed for a connection with others who truly understood our experience. Same Wave was born from that desire to create something meaningful—not just for children with epilepsy, but for teens and adults, too. We wanted to create a symbol that caregivers, friends, and families could wear to show their support.
The SAME WAVE Ring is more than just a piece of jewelry; it’s a reminder of solidarity, inspired by Adelyn’s EEG test. It serves as a symbol of strength and connection, whether you’re at the hospital or at home. You’re not alone on this journey—there is an entire community here to support you. We are all on the SAME WAVE, moving forward together.
When Adelyn was just 18 months old, she had her first febrile seizure. Over the next few years, she experienced several more seizures, each time triggered by sudden fevers. By 2013, her seizures seemed to disappear, giving her family hope that she had outgrown them. However, in March 2016, Adelyn experienced a terrifying tonic-clonic seizure in her sleep. This led to her diagnosis with a seizure disorder, and she began daily medication. Through sharing their journey, Beth and her family hoped to connect with other families facing similar struggles.
Today, Adelyn is 13 and continues to take medication twice daily that has allowed her to maintain seizure freedom and thrive as a teenager. Inspired by her journey, Adelyn became an Ambassador for the Epilepsy Foundation, sharing her story to raise awareness and support others. SAME WAVE was born out of her family’s experience, creating a community for people impacted by epilepsy to connect, advocate, and show their support.
